The Concerned Citizens of Rutherford County (CCRC) is a grassroots community-based group located in Rutherford County, NC.
Since its inception in June 1995, CCRC has grown from a locally based organization to becoming a voice for communities

The Lake Lure Ski Club,
The Lake Lure Ski Club invites your support and active participation! We have recently installed a water ski slalom course on the
western side of the northern channel of Lake Lure. The new slalom course will only be used by Lake Lure Ski Club members that

The Parks and Recreation Board is looking for a few good people to assist in building and maintaining a series of
new trails in the town. These trails will range from wide paths suitable for walking, bicycling and wheelchairs through more

Lake Lure Lakefront Owners Association (LLLOA)
If you are interested in Lake issues and concerns and own lakefront property on the shores of beautiful Lake Lure, the LLLOA
invites you to become a regular member. Associate memberships are also encouraged for those who are interested in our Lake.
Each year members receive a directory of members, informative Muse Letters, and a first class mailed subscription to the Town of
Lake Lure monthly newsletter, Lake Lure News & Views. Members meet at the Town Community Center socially at least annually
to meet neighbors and discuss issues. Annual dues are currently a modest $17.00. You may pick up an application for

The Hickory Nut Gorge Recreation Association

Counties in Western North Carolina. We presently host recreational T-ball, baseball softball and soccer for children 5 to 17.
In the future, we hope to offer football, basketball, tennis, hockey, golf, rowing, Little League Baseball and Challenge/Classic Soccer.

A team of people from W.A.V.E. has started an endowment for the Hickory Nut Gorge - Gerton, Bat Cave, Chimney Rock, Lake
Lure, and Bill's Creek. All gifts to the Hickory Nut Gorge Foundation remain intact, continue to grow and become an everlasting
resource for the community. The Hickory Nut Gorge Foundation is a component fund of The Community Foundation. of Western
North Carolina. Volunteers for Board level participation are currently being sought for representation from Bill's Creek, Gerton,

The Animal Protection Alliance of Rutherford County
Our volunteer office is currently located at the Animal
Control facility on Laurel Hill Drive where we welcome visitors and
serve residents as pet adoption counselors. We also work with
community pet owners to help them get their animals spayed or
neutered which is the only way to break the breeding cycle and begin to
control overpopulation.
Our mission is to improve quality of life for pets and their owners and
to integrate community compassion and humane care of animals into the
emerging progressive profile of Rutherford County by implementing
aggressive spay/neuter programs, promoting adoptions from our local
animal control facility and educating the public regarding the
responsible and humane treatment of all creatures.

interested in meeting other's dealing with cancer AND celebrating what can be

organization founded in 1995 by a group of concerned citizens who
believed strongly that everyone had a right to safe and livable
housing. Therefore, our purpose is to assist low-income homeowners
with urgent repairs imminent to life or safety. RHP provides repairs
using volunteer labor with materials purchased through donated
funds.
