Shepherd's Care

A charitable, non-profit organization with a mandate to help those who are in need. Our organization is staffed by volunteers with policies established by an elected Board
representing the members of local churches and members at large. Mission Statement - Assisting families and individuals with food, shelter, housing, medical,
health and short term emergencies. Shepherd's Care serves the Hickory Nut Gorge, a four county area which includes parts of Rutherford, Polk, Henderson and Buncombe
Counties.
                         


Kid Senses Children's InterACTIVE Museum,

and adults are given a unique opportunity to play, learn, and create together. By exposing children to a wide array of experiences in the areas of the arts, science, technology,

4339.   We're also looking for retirees to volunteer for the SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) program.  These folks counsel entrepreneurs in existing and

Full Moon Farm

is an organization dedicated to the well being of the wolfdog (wolf hybrid) and captive-bred wolf. Situated on 17 beautiful mountain acres in Black Mountain, NC, we operate as a federally recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit
organization for abused and refused wolfdogs and wolves who find themselves in need of love, shelter, and care through no fault of their own. Though they may be abused or neglected, homeless because of death or

The Hickory Nut Gorge Foundation

A team of people from W.A.V.E.  has started an endowment for the Hickory Nut Gorge - Gerton,  Bat Cave,  Chimney Rock,   Lake Lure,   and Bill's Creek.   All gifts to the Hickory Nut Gorge Foundation remain intact,  
continue to grow and become an everlasting resource for the community.   The Hickory Nut Gorge Foundation is a component fund of The  Community Foundation. of  Western North Carolina. Volunteers for Board level
participation are currently being sought for representation from Bill's Creek,  Gerton,   Chimney Rock,   and Bat Cave.   Donations are fully deductible. Donations can be made to
